Terry Is Facing A Huge Dilemma – Ballack
Chelsea and Germany legend Michael Ballack believes his former Blues skipper and team-mate John Terry has a summer of big decisions to make.
With no contract offer from blues boss Antonio Conte, Terry could end his 19 years playing career at Stamford Bridge in May, as offers from China, Middle East and MLS are expected for the 36-year-old
The former England international who last played in the FA Cup win at Wolves and featured in the league as a late sub in the 5-0 thrashing of Everton in November has been watching from the bench as Chelsea stride towards their second Premier League title in three years.
The former Bayern Munich and Chelsea midfielder who spent four years with Terry at Stamford Bridge, has experienced the same situation, and admits the defender has some serious thinking to do over the next few months.
”He’s such a Chelsea boy and they love him there – he is a player with that history and charisma. I know what it means if your career comes to an end and you’re getting older.
“You don’t know whether you extend your contract, play for another club or go abroad to America. I’m sure he has some options but if you think long-term, you have to feel comfortable with the decision.
“If you don’t feel comfortable with what you want to do then don’t do it. That’s what I can advise. It’s not always easy to make a decision because you must be 100 per cent convinced.” The former Germany international told Spy Sports.
Reports say Blues owner Roman Abramovich could offer Terry a coaching position or ambassadorial role but it remains to be seen if the Blues’ skipper would snub offers coming in from China, the Middle East and the MLS to remain at the Bridge.
