Jesse Lingard scored a stunning goal in the second half of extra time, as Manchester United ended their three-year trophyless spell, with the Emirates FA Cup.
Crystal Palace had taken the lead in the second half of the regular 90 minutes, after substitute Jason Puncheon lashed home a vicious volley following a corner kick.
Juan Mata equalized few minutes later, as the match ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Chris Smalling was shown a second yellow card in extra time, for pulling down Yannick Bolasie, leaving Louis van Gaal’s team to battle with 10 men.
However, Lingard, on as a subsitute himself, sealed the win with a fine goal, to give Van Gaal his first trophy in charge of United.
