John Obi Mikel and Brown Ideye Gets First Point in China
The Super Eagles duo of John Obi Mikel and Brown Ideye have both earned their first point in the Chinese Super League.
The two Nigerian stars were in action from start to finish as their club Tianjin Teda played out a goalless draw with Jiangsu Suning FC on Match Day two in the Chinese Super league on Friday afternoon.
Friday’s outing was the debut show for Ideye who arrived in China barely three days before the kick off the season and was predictably overlooked for the season-opener by manager Jaime Pacheco.
With Ideye firing blanks on Friday despite getting ninety minutes of action, the honour of being the first Nigerian to score this season in China may have eluded him even as he awaits on how the three other Nigerian strikers, Odion Ighalo, Anthony Ujah and Obafemi Martins will fare when their respective clubs takes center stage.
Meanwhile, Ideye picked up his first booking in Chinese football on Friday as he was yellow-carded in the 28th minute.
With the solitary point earned on Friday, Tianjin Teda provisionally occupy the eleventh position on the 16-team table in the CSL
