In the Nigeria Professional Football League Match between Ikorodu United and Shooting
Stars on Sunday, the game had to be abandoned because of crowd trouble.

The game between the relegation battled team was halted with four minutes left to play due to
the hosts’ fans running onto the pitch.

Chinedu Onyelonu put the Oga Boys ahead in the 25th minute courtesy of Moses Ebiye’s assist

And in the 89th minute, Ajani Ibrahim leveled scores for the Oluyole Warriors – a goal which
infuriated the fans of the hosts who encroached the field of play.

The referee then ordered the players off the pitch and into the dressing rooms before ultimately deciding to abandon the game after
speaking with representatives from both clubs.

The League Management Company are expected to give their verdict on the show of shame at the
Onikan Stadium in the coming days.
